Preserving the natural environment of the Taconic Plateau.
Our Mission
The Mission of the Taconic Plateau Foundation (TPF) is to protect unique ecological areas for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. TPF provides access for collaborative educational and scientific research opportunities, while promoting environmental conservation and wildlife stewardship.
Conserve
The Southern Taconic Range is home to over 150 rare and endangered species. Our unique corner of New England is under increasing development pressures that threaten to degrade this precious habitat. The Taconic Plateau Foundation has made it a priority to protect the diversity and ecology of the plants, animals and natural communities that currently exist in the Taconic Plateau area and to promote wildlife management on our lands.
Access
We welcome groups such as schools, wildlife or birding clubs, and other interested parties to access and explore the plateau in ways consistent with our mission to steward and conserve the land responsibly.
Guided walks and educational forums are offered regularly.
Please fill out a request form to get in touch with us for suggestions on field trips, guided hikes, speakers, or workshops that might be of interest to your organization here.
